Valentine's Day

Our Valentine morning was spent at Grandma and Grandpa Abbott's house!

A little smooch for Grandpa

Opening her valentine gift from Grandma and Grandpa
Opening her book! Grandma and Grandpa recorded this book so she can hear their voices every day as they read this book to her. I taped her listening to it the first time. Hopefully I can make that a blog post too!
Thank you Grandma

Cara and I got home later that evening and found these beautiful roses waiting, as well as a wonderful meal from Scott!

Our little Valentine with her card from Mommy and Daddy

Thank you Scott for my roses, card and the delicious dinner you made. What a wonderful husband you are! You spoil me and I don't need Valentine's day to say I love you and thank you for being you!

To my other Valentine Cara, I can not put into words how much love we have for you! I hope you feel and know how loved you are everyday! Thank you for being the great, spunky, energetic, independent, loving wonderful 3 year old that you are!

Freezing Fog

A few random pictures of beautiful freezing fog the other morning. The effects on the trees was wonderful. Plus it meant for a 2 hour delay to school for Scott, even better!

A little love package from Italy!

Aunt Cyndi and Uncle Danilo are spoiling Cara yet again, this time with a great package for Valentine's day! And the postal service was accommodating and got it here on time :)

Yeah, Cara loves to get packages
Hmmm....how do I open this?
Ripping open the fun!
Wow, what is this?
Awesome hand puppets to sing Old McDonald Had Farm! The week before Cara got this book with the sing along CD also from Aunt Cyndi and Uncle Danilo!
She loves her chicken puppet
A pig, chicken and a horse puppet! How great!

She loved her box of surprises and treats! The picture frame with a picture of Opus and Olive is SO cute. The chocolates were yummy (Cara shared with us :)

Mommy's Birthday

My blogging is getting a bit behind again, hope to get caught up here soon!

Monday February 8th was a special day in our family, it was my birthday and also my grandmother's birthday. After I picked Cara up from preschool that day we headed over to my grandma's for a birthday visit before all of us going out to eat that night! We all went to the Melting Pot for dinner! It is a fondue restaurant. We enjoyed cheese fondue with veggies, apples and bread, then salads, and then the main course of various meats and veggies!

We were joined at the restaurant by some of our besties: Dendra, Larry and Zaina. We were also celebrating Zaina's birthday which was the week before!

After a yummy meal it was time for the best part: Chocolate fondue! We had 3 pots so we had lots of varieties cheeses, broths and chocolate. Here is the "smores" chocolate being flambed with a bit of cinnamon to add the spark!

After we got home that night Cara and I were opening my cards and presents!

I love the special birthday card from her
They got me Wii Hasbro Family Game night #1 and a gift certificate to a spa for a facial, massage, and pedicure! Ahhh.....can't wait to use it!

Thanks for making my birthday extra special everyone! We are having a family birthday party at my parents house soon to celebrate the February birthdays in our family, so I am sure I will have some fun cousin pictures to post after that!

Sledding Fun

A big snow was the perfect opportunity for the family to get the kids together and take them sledding on the same hill we used to sled on when we were kids!

Scott,Eemily and Cara in the snow, bundled up and ready to sled
Everyone walking to the big dam hill
Dillon, Vince, Charlotte and Cara heading to go sledding
Vince and Oscar ready to head down the hill on the orange sled
Oscar and Cara going down the hill
And still going
And all done, they both fell off the sled at the bottom
Back up the hill and ready to make snow angels together
Getting a ride back to Grandma and Grandpa's house

Grandma whipped up a big batch of hot chocolate to warm everyone up after the sledding fun!

Devouring Downtown Again

On Saturday night Scott and I had the opportunity to devour downtown one last time, at Morton's Steakhouse this time. Cara chose to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's instead of go, so we enjoyed this date night! Another fabulous $30 dinner at a wonderful restaurant and a wonderful opportunity to spend time together! An early birthday dinner for Mommy or early Valentine's dinner for us!!

Bird Feeder

Last Wednesday Cara brought home a bird feeder they made during school! Here she is carrying the bag of bird food and the feeder to the front porch to put it together!

Food in and ready for the birds, now we need to find a good place to hang it
The tree in the front yard is perfect so we can watch it from the window
No smiles for the camera but she was excited about her bird feeder

Devouring Downtown at St Elmo's

The next stop for devouring downtown was at St Elmo's with Grandma and Grandpa Fox!
Cara took their picture
And trying to get a picture of the 3 of us
Nice! Where did she learn that? :)
And some book reading time with Daddy after we got home
It was so cute to watch them reading together, great way to spend a Friday night!
