Festival Parade

Cara was pretty excited to go watch the 500 Festival Parade this past Saturday. So Grandma Abbott, Aunt Cyndi, Mommy, Daddy and Cara headed downtown for some fun.

Cyndi surprised Cara with some cotton candy!
Lunch time: we packed a picnic for everyone
One of the floats, this one was Finding Nemo themed
A big hit with Cara, the Elmo balloon
It was quite sunny and hot (our seats were in the shade we when got there but as soon as the parade started we had full on sun)

Another big hit with Cara, the Strawberry Shortcake balloon

Later in the afternoon after we came home and swam to cool off, the girls headed out for mani's and pedi's!

Introducing Cara to the Indy 500

We took Cara to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first day of qualifications. We had been talking a lot about the race, the process at the Speedway, what the flags mean, etc and she was really excited to go see what it was all abut in person!

Sitting between turn 1 and 2 to watch the major qualifiers! We also were sitting at the site of 2 wrecks that day!
Umm...thought there was a car in in this shot :)
but there is definitely one in this one :)
Cara and Mommy sporting our shades and enjoying the sunshine and fast race cars
Once we were getting too hot and the action on the track slowed down we headed to the musuem! I used to work at the museum gift shop for several summers when I was in college, so I could go to the museum any time I wanted. But this was Scott and Cara's first time!

After the museum we walked over to the bleachers by the pits to watch the action in the pits! What a fun day we had! Cara was pretty excited about the cars and everything about the Greatest Spectacle in Racing!

San Francisco Day 1

Last week I went to San Fransisco for a nursing conference for work, along with 3 coworkers!

At the airport bright and early for our first flight to Milwaukee, then we hopped on another plane and headed to San Fransisco
We got checked into our rooms and found a wonderful place outside to eat our lunch
One of priorities for the day was to go to the Golden Gate Bridge

The Fabulous 50's at Rossville

Rossville's high school spring program was a 1950's musical review! Grandma and Grandpa Abbott, Cyndi, Cara and I headed up to catch the performance on Saturday night!

They even had a '57 Chevy outside to get you in the mood
The lobby was decorated like a 1950's era soda shop

Aunt Cyndi's Here!!

For many months Cyndi and I have been planning Operation Mother's Day Sneak, to sneak her over here in time for Mother's Day when everyone else was expecting her to be here May 12th! And it worked!! What a surprise it was to pull up to the house and have Cara yell from the car, "hey Aunt Cyndi is here"! Her parents were so surprised, thrilled and excited to have her here!
They were all rushing to get in the car to head to the Pike Performing Art Center to watch the Rossville choir "sophisticated ladies" perform at ISSMA State Choral competition!
So everyone hurriedly hopped into my car and we were off!In the lobby at Pike, finally taking time for some pictures!
I don't know who is happier?!

Congratulations to the choir, what a wonderful job performing at State! It was a tear jerking performance! What an honor to be competing at State!

After the performance we went to Outback for dinner, Aunt Cyndi's first choice of an American meal! Yummy!

Spring Program

What a delight to watch 12 three year olds singing their hearts out at their spring program!

The kids obviously LOVE this song as they really got into the movements with it

They made flower masks to wear for their song about planting a seed and then becoming a flower
The end!! It was wonderful!!
