Camping at Brown County

Cara helped by packing her suitcase for an overnight stay with Grandma and Grandpa F
We stopped at the Lookout spot for pictures while we were waiting to "check-in" at our camp site

So we thought we should turn to LOOK at the beautiful scenery

We found a big field to play some Bocce Ball, Scott and I must have had some beginners luck because we won the game!!

Our new tent, easy to assemble (everything was color coded) and nice and roomy compared to our old dome tent

Our two camp sites were on a nice slope, if you can tell in the picture, so we had to set up our tents on the gravel parts that were flat
On Saturday we headed down to Brown County with Gigi, Matt, Lacey and Derek for an overnight camping trip. My work friends have been going on an annual camping trip for a few years, but this year we had a few conflicts so the three of us had to go separately, while the rest of the bunch is going next weekend.
We got down to Brown County park a bit early and our campsites were still occupied so we enjoyed the scenery, played some bocce ball, and ate lunch before setting up camp. We got a new tent this year that we were eager to try and we love it. Now we just desperately need a new air mattress since we woke up in the middle of the night without air in ours! We played games, enjoyed a yummy campfire dinner, late night smores and shared lots of stories! We had great weather as well!
Cara totally enjoyed her sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house! Oscar was spending the night also, so they had a ball. They "helped" Grandma make brownies! They played LOTS!! We can't wait to take Cara on a camping trip, we think it will be fun to teach her more about the great outdoors!!

Cara had to pose with her two best friends for me for our annual picture! Do you think she will still do this when she is in high school?

More pigtails and fun

Cara liked her pigtails so much that other day she brought me her hair bands and asked for piggies, and since it is normally a fight over keeping something in her hair, I was happy to oblige
I can close my eyes and hear her giggling when I look at these pictures

And of course, every child wants to wear Mommy's shoes! I was in the shower getting ready and came out to find her in these nice high heels, which she proceeded to wear for the next hour

Life is so fun right now!!! We are enjoying every moment!! When I get home from work I just want to grab and cuddle her because it makes me realize how lucky I am!!!

New Pigtails

The other day I was playing with Cara's hair and decided to try to get it into pigtails. She held still and the result is adorable in my opinion.

Visit from Great Grandma

Great Grandma and Cara coloring at her easel
Pictures Time

Mommy is funny, that is what Cara is laughing at

Time at our church fair this weekend, here everyone is enjoying dinner. Great Grandma E, Grandma and Grandpa F, Dillon, Oscar, Great Grandma A, and the three of us

Time to hit the rides, here we are on the carousel, Scott is holding Oscar but you can't see him in this picture

Both kiddos enjoying sitting on the horses

Meeting up with Grandma A so she can take Great Grandma A to her house for the rest of the week

Grandma A brought Cara a surprise, a cute little painted pumpkin

Always time for some cuddles on the porch at Cracker Barrel before heading off in separate directions

Cara sadly saying goodbye to Great Grandma A
We had a special visit this weekend from Great Grandma A. She lives in Florida and hasn't seen Cara in about 2 years, so Cara has changed quite a bit :) Cara took right to her ,which sometimes believe it or not Cara can be quite shy, so we were pleased when she was instantly taking Great Grandma's hand to play. They colored together and enjoyed each other's company over the weekend. Our fun this weekend included our church fair, eating at the Irish Claddagh, making a homemade apple pie and ice cream, and a bit of shopping. Today we met half way so Great Grandma could continue on with her travels and spend time with the rest of the family in northern IN and then Ohio. We hope to visit Great Grandma on our next trip to Florida, but until then we took tons of pictures so Cara can remember her visit!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Thanks Hurricane Ike for giving us a windy day to fly a kite
Daddy holding it up to get it started again

Moved into the front to see if the wind was better

Always take a moment to stop and smell the flowers
Cara's current obsession is Mary Poppins. To say she LOVES the movie is an understatement, we have to watch it every day, sometimes multiple times in a day. She knows all the songs and sings them with glee. She walks around the house singing even when the movie is not playing. Probably the favorite song is "Let's Go Fly a Kite" which is why it was perfect when we saw kites on clearance while shopping today. The warm weather and windy day made it perfect conditions for kite flying!

Weekend of Fun

Playing in the little rocking chair on Friday night
Then moved on to the big rocking chair

At the fair eating yummy treats on Saturday

How about a buggy ride with Grandma and Grandpa

Saturday afternoon Mommy and Daddy headed to Pokagon State Park for a beautiful wedding out on the sun deck. Congratulations Annie and Bill!

Here they are cutting the beautiful cake

here is Scott setting the timer and putting the camera on a beer bottle to get our picture

So we pass the camera over to friends so we can get the foreheads in the shot as well :)

On Friday afternoon we headed up north after Daddy got home from work for a weekend visit with G & G A. We met up with them for dinner at our favorite pizza place in town before heading back to their house for lots of fun! Grandma had a tea party set up and waiting for Cara. She played hard and I wasn't sure we were ever going to get her to sleep.
On Saturday we got up and headed to a local fair for the parade and fair fun! We enjoyed some yummy fair food and Cara got to go on a buggy ride with G &G. Wow! We headed back to the house for nap time and so we could get dressed and ready for a wedding. Scott and I headed even further north to Pokagon State Park for the wedding of our old friend Annie! We had a nice time catching up with some old friends and enjoying the beautiful wedding. The weather was absolutely perfect for the occasion.
No pictures from Sunday, but we had a nice breakfast cooked by Grandma and Daddy. Then got to visit with Great Grandma A, Great Uncle Duane, and Great Aunt Chris on skype. We tried to also have a skype visit with Aunt Cyndi but skype was WAY TOO busy that day and kept dropping the call. We also met up with Mommy's friend Sally for lunch at a mexican restaurant before heading back home. On the way back home we stopped by Oscar's house for a quick play visit since it was on the way and Grandma and Grandpa F were there babysitting! What a busy weekend! No wonder Cara and I slept in today!!

Tucking Everyone In

Cara usually plays in our bedroom when I am showering/getting ready for work in the late afternoon. This is what I found the other day when I got out of the shower, she had tucked her babies and Mickey into bed! So cute! Luckily Daddy was nearby and able to run and grab the camera for a photo op!
