Summer's End Festival!

Another year, another Summer's End Festival in Rossville! Daddy's one and only parade of the year!

Daddy always gets Cara the band shirt of the year!  Maybe one day she will walk in the parade with Daddy!
Aunt Cyndi went with us this year!  Another reason of the 1,000,000 growing ones that we love having her back home!
Mommy and Cara cuddles while waiting for the parade!

This parade passes out lots of candy...and this year a freezer pop, yummy!  Perfect for our hot sunny day!
yeah, don't remember what we were laughing about but I love the smiles!

old cars, tractors, bikes, horses, two marching bands and a whole lotta candy make this a fun parade!  I filmed the band on video so that is why I have no pictures of the marching band this year, oops!
Resting in Daddy's office to cool down after the parade
Daddy and Cara cuddles now
Then we hopped on the trolley to the town park to partake in the festival, good eats, good drinks, and lots of fun!

Fun Night with Old and New Friends

Scott and Steve Noga go way back, old high school buddies. Steve was one of our groomsman for our wedding.  Steve got divorced last year and recently started dating Sandy who has a daughter named Sarah.  They were coming to Indy (they live in Michigan)  for Steve's dads' birthday party so it was great to catch up with them!   We all enjoyed a DELICIOUS dinner at Cooper's Hawk followed by a fun evening of mini golf at Pirate's Cove!

Cara and Sarah became instant buds!  They have similar personalities and really hit it off!

Steve and Sandy were having some serious competition going to see who would win!
They make a really cute couple and we are really happy that our friend Steve is happy again!
Family pic!
Cara and Sarah being goofy!  They did not want the night to end...but we had an EARLY wake up call the next day for Daddy's parade!

Thanks Steve, Sandy and Sarah for a fun evening!  We will have to do it again soon!

Last Swimming Lesson of the Summer

I remembered my camera for Cara's last swimming lesson of the season! Miss Caitlyn has taught Cara so much and we have really enjoyed our one on one lessons!

Swimming in the deep end!
Finally jumped off the diving board!  And she did it twice!
And every class ends with a little play time which is Cara's favorite part!

First Day of Kindergarten

breakfast!  Mommy made her french toast as a special breakfast for the big day!

All dressed and ready!

Family pic!

Giving Daddy cuddles before getting on the bus!

Aunt Cyndi came over to give some cuddles and encouragement (to Mom and Dad too!)
Big girl getting on the school bus!

We hopped in the car and waited at her school for her bus to arrive!

Getting off the bus!

Pretty excited!

Close up!  She kept walking closer and closer to me!

At her class room!

Sitting at her desk!

Mommy got one more squeeze before leaving my big girl for the day!!

Cara, we are so proud of the big girl you have become!  You may have been nervous or scared but didn't show it, you walked right up to the bus and waved goodbye because you were ready for this next phase of your life!  We are excited for you to learn and grow in school and know your brain is ready to soak it all in!  We love you and are honored to be your parents!

Indiana State Fair

It's that time of year...the Indiana State Fair!  Full of lots to see, do and eat!!

And this year for the first time in at least 7 years Cyndi was home to go with us to the fair!

Our first stop was the dairy barn for a chocolate shake!
And taking a ride on the tram lets us see the whole fair

We then went to the Riley Kid park so Cara could work on the farm

Time to eat!  Yummy corn dogs, ribbon fries, pork sandwiches, rotisserie chicken!  Everything was so tasty (no I did not eat all that, just listing what food was present on the table)!

The giant cheese sculpture for this year

And Cara's favorite, carnival rides!  Lucky for us it was $2 day so all rides were just $2!
