What's In A Name?

I never realized how different of names choices we had until we actually had to choose a name for our daughter. There is a lot of pressure in choosing a name. We don't want it to be too trendy, too old fashioned, too weird, too hard to spell, and most of all she has to have this name for a long time so we want her to like her own name. Scott prefers names that were popular while we went to school like Jennifer, Stacy, Tracy, etc. I prefer cuter names like Annabelle, Ava, Tess, Isabelle. We have not reached any name halfway through the spectrum that both of us agree on. I am hoping that when she is born we will see her adorable face and her name will be apparent.

Our little peanut's first picture! She was 6 weeks gestation and measured 3.5mm. We saw the most awesome flicker of a heartbeat! We were still very scared this was going to end like our previous pregnancies. Our doctor gave us very cautious optimism and told us to pray! It is amazing something so small gave us so much worry and excitement all at the same time.

Scott and I met at IU in the fall of 1993. We were married in July of 1997. We have lived in Liberty IN, Fort Wayne IN, and now in Brownsburg IN. I work as an RN and Scott is a band director for grades 5-12.

We decided many years ago that the time was right to start a family. Our grandparents were not getting any younger and we wanted them to see their grandchildren. Little did we know that our plans would be out of our hands. Now after many years of heartbreak, 4 miscarriages and being told that we would probably never conceive and carry our own biological child we are 30 weeks pregnant with a miracle. Without getting too spiritual lets just say we pray for our blessing everyday.

This blog will allow us to share the rest of our pregnancy with family and friends. We look forward to posting our birth announcement and sharing our daughter with those who can not be here to meet her.
