Let It Snow

Between Tuesday and Wednesday we received a nice winter blast of more than one foot of snow! Cara was so excited to go outside to play in the snow and build a snowman, unfortunately it is a really light powdery snow that doesn't pack.

Here is Scott using the new electric power shovel to clear the snow, it was a Christmas present just this year from me and it has been quite handy the past couple of weeks

Cara grabbed her shovel and wanted to help Daddy clear the snow

Daddy was trying to build up snow to make a snow fort, but again the snow was too light

Mommy had to make a snow angel

Now here I am sitting up

And I thought Cara would like sitting on my lap in the snow but she was not enjoying it

It is a gorgeous winter wonderland right now! Daddy got an extra day to stay home from work and we got to enjoy the day together, even if it was spent shoveling out our driveway and Grandma and Grandpa F's.

A Lot Of Nothing

Boy, I have been a bad blogger lately! But that is because we have not had anything to blog about! The winter blues in combination with boring everyday life does not lead to great picture perfect moments!

I thought Cara looked adorable on Sunday morning all dressed up and ready for church!
A couple of weeks ago Daddy got 2 days off from work because of the weather (an advantage to being a teacher, although a nuisance to him). So he made his favorite girls a yummy breakfast with homemade waffles and blueberry syrup! Cara loved it!

Just a random cheese for the camera! The camera was probably sitting on the counter in the kitchen and she stopped to pose for Mommy!
We were hoping for some good snow today to go outside and play a bit, but so far there is hardly anything out there. The weathermen claim we may get a few inches this evening and overnight so maybe tomorrow! Maybe then we will have some more pictures to post!!

Children's Museum Fun

Despite the subzero temp Friday morning we headed to the Children's Museum to meet Kitty and Ali for a playdate. If this hadn't been planned for weeks we probably would never have gone, but with our work schedules it has been nearly impossible to plan a playdate, of course we managed to pick the coldest day of the year. So with lots of layers and a quick sprint from the parking garage to the front door we headed in for a day of fun.

Here is Cara driving the race car and Ali waiting her turn

Cara and Mommy on the carousel-long story about why we did not end up on this together, but this way we each got pictures :)

What a fun time we had together at the Children's Museum! Thanks Kitty and Ali for joining us!!!

It Finally Snowed!!!!!!!

Cara woke up to find it was snowing outside, so far this winter season we only had a few dustings of snow and finally we got a measurable snowfall
So later in the day we bundled her up (it took us longer to get ready to go outside than we were actually outside). She was so excited to go outside though!!

Time to see if we can make snowballs to throw

Throwing snow at Daddy (action shot)

Crying because we told her we had to go inside because it was too cold out, she kept saying "stay outside" despite her red cheeks, runny nose and frozen fingers

Princess Room Update

We finally got the curtains and the bedding this past week! The room is oozing pink but we love it! We had to make a few adjustments to the room after using it for a week.

Her dresses and shelves

Our Princess loves her new room

Even Princesses love to read and have their toys handy, so we moved this shelf in from her other room and bought new pink bins to store toys in. We had to hang her princess dresses higher but they still look cute on the wall.

We also had to buy a step stool, her bed is pretty high. It is even higher than our bed because she can climb into ours without help.

On going private:

Thank you for understanding our need to make our blog private. There was not one specific instance but several months of dwelling on it. To respect our privacy, not worry about the content we post, and to only have people that love us for who we are (or at least like us) be able to view it are the major reasons for making it an invited only site. In this crazy world of identity theft and pedophiles the more we do to protect ourselves the better.

One Sick Girl....

Cara has had a rough week of having a really bad cold with cough, fever, runny nose, red eyes, and overall miserable. Here we are sacked out on the couch for a nap which is totally not like Cara to just want to snuggle up on the couch. Before we knew it we were both asleep and Daddy thought it was cute and took our picture. She is slowly on the mend with a bit of a cough and runny nose still lingering around.

Cara's Princess Room Creation

We finally finished Cara's new bedroom. Because it was over several days and LOTS of pictures we made this photo show to make it easier. Despite stalking the mailman her new comforter, bedskirt and curtains did not arrive in time, so we will post more pictures once they are here! We finished it on Saturday while Cara was at Grandma and Grandpa F's house playing, we wanted to make it more special having a big reveal! Hope you enjoy!!

Happy New Year

We headed up north for a couple of days to ring in the New Year with friends and family! After enjoying a yummy pizza dinner at our favorite pizza joint with the Dankert Family we all headed back to their house for some serious NYE partying, hehe!
