St Louis Part 1

We planned a little weekend getaway to St. Louis for 2 main reasons... 1) Cara had saved up enough money to buy a new doll at American Girl and we wanted to go buy it in person at a store (had choice of Chicago or St. Louis) 2) Scott wanted to go to a concert in St. Louis -Steve Vai
So in deciding to go  we talked to Cara about the city and she really wanted to see the St Louis arch!  So after driving halfway to St. Louis on Friday night, we got up and left that hotel and drove right downtown to the arch on Saturday morning.  It just happened to be National Park Day and the only day of the year that the National Eagle ( a real one)  was on display for visitors to see in person.
Daddy and Cara waiting for our time to go up in the arch
Grandma and Grandpa Fox came with us to help with the kids (so we could go to the concert) but decided not to go up in the arch
Cara bought a stamped penny

You ride in this little capsule that seats 5 to go up to the top
views from the top
you have these little windows to look out

Another view from the top
The peak of the arch

And the capsule ride back down to the bottom!
What a great experience!   A few fun things to remember...

in driving into the city and seeing it for the first time..
Scott-Cara there is the arch
Cara-really, I thought it was yellow
Grandma-no, that's just McDonald's

Sweater Vest

I have always read about "A Whale of a Sale" which is consignment sale that people can take their baby items/clothes and resell them but had never attended before but thought this was the perfect year to go since Will needs more clothes in bigger sizes. This little sweater vest was a perfect find because it is just like what Grandpa Abbott wears all the time.

Little skinny jeans!  So cute!

Sweater vest twins!!

Country "Fare"

Going to our church fair is one of our fall traditions.  Cara and Oscar were together riding the carnival rides with Grandpa (sorry no pictures) while Scott, Cyndi, Will, my mom and I played some bingo!

Ready to go!

Enjoying the evening night all cuddled in his blanket and car seat
Can't leave the fair without getting an elephant ear!!

Growing Boy! 3 months and counting...

3 months old and growing every second of every day!  Still wearing size 1 diapers and size 3-6 months clothes (because your long legs and long feet don't fit your 0-3 anymore).  You are developing quite the personality.  Love your little smiles! You are a doing great at breastfeeding, eating every 2-3 hours during the day and 4-5 hours at night.  You also like your bottles of breastmilk  when Mommy is at work.

Will and Conrad

It has been a while since we got the babies together for a picture!  Unfortunately we had trouble getting them both awake and happy at the same time!  First Will was not happy...
 What cute little baby boys!
Then it was Conrad's turn to cry!

Jumper!

Some days it seems like Will is bored!  He likes his swing and bouncy seat but I thought he might be ready for his jumper!  It plays music and the seat can spin all the way around so there it lots to play with.  Even at the lowest setting his feet didn't touch the ground so we put a pillow under it to prop his feet on!

Cara was trying to show up all the fun he can have!
Hmm...a bit too soon I think :)

He is growing so much every day I keep thinking what a big boy he is becoming and then I put him in something like this and realize how tiny he still is...

School Picture Day

School picture day!  Cara wanted me to use the curling iron to give her big curls that day (guess her beautiful natural curls weren't big enough for her that day)!  Wonder how it looked by the time they got around to pictures :)

Daddy's Lap

The best place to snuggle and watch tv is on Daddy's lap!  Cara was just moments away from dozing off like Will!

Garage Clean UP

About once a year a major garage clean up is much needed!  How does it become such a mess? These white shelves which happen to be on my side of the garage were bowing and looked ready to collapse any day...so we wanted to replace these plastic shelves with something more durable!
These shelves get everything stacked on the that may be int he way.  everytime Scott needs to work in the garage: change the oil in our cars, do other car work, do something handy he can't even get to what he needs to use
Our wall of yard tools became cluttered and messy

Cara found a dead butterfly on the garage floor, it was pretty and so sad that one of our cars ended its life (and after she touched it we made her scrub her hands :)

 24 hours later....view from outisde
 More organization to the wall
A new stainless steel shelf with totes to organize more stuff
We moved the deep freezer to the back wall!

overall so much improvement to the garage!  Both cars have always fit in the garage but they do much more easily now and with improved foot traffic around them!  A busy and sweaty Labor Day weekend project!
