Another Fish Update!

So after now having 3 fish and having to change their water in their small aquarium we decided we needed a bigger aquarium with a filter! So our weekend project became "if you give a mouse a cookie"...

Step 1 we bought a 10 gallon aquarium kit at Walmart for $30 (note the 5 gallon was $28 so we thought for only 2 more dollars get the bigger aquarium) Then we decided this table was NOT going to work as a stand for the aquarium although I think our cats disagreed!  They were quite happy having a birds (cats) eye view!

Then after a stop at PetSmart we ended up with new gravel, plants and of course a princess castle for the fish to enjoy! (another $20ish bucks for all this)

Step #2 We ended up back at Walmart to buy an aquarium stand, another almost $40, and of course an abandoned pirate ship for the aquarium came home as well ($12)
but the end result is 3 happy little fish, one happy little girl, and a happy husband who has wanted a fish tank, well for about all of the 14 years we have been married!
So Miss Indiana, Miss American and Princess are happily living in their new home and have also been given new names!

introducing...Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry :)

Our best attempt at a family picture!   Mom, Dad, daughter, 2 cats and 3 fish...and they lived happily ever after!!

Garage Sale

We held our Garage sale on Friday and Saturday! Grandma Abbott came down to help with preparation and sales. Aunt Cyndi came over and was put in charge of marketing and PR. I had already put an ad in the paper! We had TONS of clothes, guess I always liked my girl to be very fashionable and have lots of choices!

On Saturday Cara had a lemonade stand and also sold hot chocolate in the morning since it was a chilly day!  She was pretty proud of her success and was looking forward to spending her money...but that is for another post!

Our garage sale was a success!  We sold almost all of our major items including a queen bed frame, coffee table, vacuum, baby swing, exercauser, 4 strollers, 2 car seats, boppy pillow, and LOTS of clothes.  We still had a lot of clothes leftover but we may try another garage sale in the spring!!

Garage Sale Prep

When looking at pictures on my computer I realized I almost forgot to blog about my garage sale. As sad as it was we decided to part with all the baby stuff we had been saving. If we are ever so blessed to be expecting baby #2 we will just have to buy new things!!

Cara was really having a hard time parting with her "baby toys" but we made it worth her while.  We earmarked several items that if they sold she got that money to buy new toys!
Prepping for a garage sale is A LOT of work!

We are so lucky that both Grandma's came over on Thursday to help with clothes sorting, pricing and set-up.
By neighbor used to be a realtor so I borrowed her realtor signs to recover with garage sale signs to post at the entrance to the neigborhood
We came in from sorting to find that Cara had put herself to bed in the lazyboy in the office!

School Picture Day

We were saving this cute outfit from Gymboree for school picture day! Mommy bought her the outfit and then Grandma Abbott found her the matching shoes so she was all set!

I thought her hair look extra cute and extra curly that day!  Perfect with her matching hair bow!

Waiting at the bus stop, she got lots of compliments that morning about her well coordinated cute outfit!

Update on the fishes!

At the St Malachy fare we won ANOTHER fish! Cara named this fish Princess and she happily joined our 2 other goldfish!

So our cats are still very entranced by the fish, we find them staring at the fish like this most days!

We have to keep a cooling rack on the top of the aquarium because we have caught their paws reaching in more than once!

And had to include a couple of cute pictures of Cara too!

New fish!

We went to the Zionsville Fall Festival on Saturday and Cara won 2 goldfish by throwing ping pong balls into tiny fish bowls (well Cara won one and Grandma A won one for her)!  So the next day we had to go buy a fish tank, fish food, etc.  Cara is pretty excited about her new fish which she has named Miss Indiana and Miss America!  Why the names you ask...because right after she won the fish we ran into Miss Indiana at the festival wearing her sash and tiara and looking beautiful.  She told us that she would be competing in the Miss American pageant in January...so that is how Cara chose her fish names!

Here is Cara with Miss Indiana!

First Lost Tooth

It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was posting about Cara getting her first tooth when she was a baby! Now I am posting about her losing her first tooth and anticipating a visit from the tooth fairy!

It was her first tooth she got as a baby so it makes sense that it was the first tooth to come back out!

And she waited for a night for Mommy to be home to put it under her pillow so  I could be there in the morning to see what the tooth fairy brought her!  So on Thursday night we put it under her pillow in a ziplock bag and the next morning the tooth fairy had put $10 in the ziplock bag!

Girls Day Out

This restaurant had a lovely outdoor seating spot which was perfect a a late summer day!

What a fun afternoon when we headed to Zionsville for some lunch and window shopping!  Thanks Dendra and Cyndi, it was just what I needed!
