Cookies and pies!

Cara and I shared a fun Tuesday by making cookies and pies! She was a great helper!

Stir stir stir!

Rolling out the dough is hard work!

Tickle time while we waited on cookies to bake :)

Time to decorate the cookies

Deep in concentration!

The finished products, can you tell which cookie sheet Cara decorated? She did a great job :)

The holiday events start..

This past Saturday we decided to go to Carmel's Holiday on the Square! Grandma and Grandpa F were babysitting Oscar for the weekend so we thought it would be fun for the kids.

Here are Oscar and Cara petting the reindeer

The lighting of the Christmas tree in the gazebo

And after an hour and a half wait (thanks Grandpa and Daddy for holding our place on line while we kept walking to do other stuff) we finally got to talk to Santa! She told him a few things she wanted for Christmas

Santa gave out great gift bags filled with tons of toys and things to do, just wish they passed them out while we waited in line for something to do :)
After being excited in line to tell Santa what he wanted, Oscar refused to talk to Santa or sit on his lap! We were hoping if Cara went first it would be okay, not so much this year!

Playing in the leaves and more

We couldn't have had better weather on a November weekend than we had last weekend. It made for a perfect opportunity to play in the leaves!!

Tackling Daddy!

Model posing! I love the leaves stuck in her hair!

Yeah, rolling in the leaves with Daddy!

Saturday night we had Grandma and Grandpa F (who brought with them Oscar and Dillon) for smores. Perfect evening for using the firepit!

Saturday morning was a big day for Cara! We gathered all her binkies (pacifiers) and took them to Toys R Us to sell them for a toy! Judge us if you will , but yes we have allowed her to use binkies for naptime and nighttime up until now and for a long while we have known we had to break the habit. The lady working the customer service desk thought we were a bit crazy but went along with our story and allowed us to sell the binkies in exchange for a gift card that Cara could use to buy something special.
Walking into Toys R Us with bag of binkies in hand

walking out with her new toy, a CD player complete with karaoke micrphone shaped like a Princess carriage. She LOVES her new toy!! It was a great trade off until time to go to sleep that night and it was ROUGH!! She cried and begged to go back to the lady to buy her binkies back, it was so sad. Although by night #2, no tears or cries. Thank goodness, it was breaking our hearts to make her so sad, even though we knew it HAD to be done!

Halloween Night

We had a super fun Halloween day! We met some old friends downtown for lunch at Hard Rock Cafe and then went to part of the High School Marching Band finals at Lucas Oil Stadium. We got home just in time to go to our neighbor's house for dinner. After a yummy dinner we got the girls dressed and ready for Trick or treating!

I asked Cara to pose for me and she gave me her best model pose :) We had a little "discussion" about which costume she was going to wear, guess that is our fault for her having too many to chose from, but we "decided" on Minnie Mouse!! All month this was the plan until about the last week and then it changed daily, but what a cute Minnie she was!

Here are Cara and Grace, who is her best buddy. We live just two houses away and they are just 3 weeks apart in age. The girls LOVE to play together and have been known to stalk each others houses from windows to see if the other can play.

Cara and Grace were very brave trick or treating. Here are some neighbors with a scary garage set up and they weren't even afraid to go up there. Must be strength in numbers!

Going up and ringing the door bell was probably the most exciting part for them

And seeing other kids in their costumes was a treat too!
Thanks for Mike and Marcie for a delicious dinner! We had a great time hanging out with your family!
What a totally fun Halloween! Wish the weather was a tad bit warmer but at least it was not raining! The girls had a ton of fun and came home with an overflowing bucket of candy and we only did a small portion of our neighborhood.

Zoo Boo at the Indy Zoo

Last Thursday Grandma F and I took Cara to the Indianapolis Zoo for Zoo Boo! It was a pretty nice day (meaning one that was not raining for once) so it was a prefect day to go!

Here she is watching the noisy seals

Our friends Kitty, Ali and Chris were also at the zoo. We met up and stopped for the girls to get a picture together. Ali was not quite in the posing for a picture mood :)

I have never seen the lions so awake and so loud, they must love this type of weather. They were talking back and forth to each other.

Stopping to see the elephants
In the Plains area of the zoo they had trick or treat stations set up and Cara was more than pleased to get some candy! We had a fun time but couldn't stay for too long because she also had ballet class that night!
