Qualifications at IMS

A warm beautiful Saturday in May was perfect for Qualifications for the Indy 500!

We found seats right behind the pits so we watched the cars move down the line waiting for their turn to qualify

Danica and Simona had a nice little chat while waiting on their turn
We headed to the museum because Daddy's friend Tom was with us and he had never been!

Cara hopped into the photo car and was ready to drive away

The pink car was Cara's favorite

What a fun day at the track! Our little princess is becoming quite the race enthusiast this year. She enjoys watching the racing updates on the evening news everyday and even talked us all into going to the race this year. She said she didn't think it was fair to just go to see them qualify that she should be able to see the real race! So tickets were bought and we are introducing her to her first ever Indy 500!

Seussical the Musical

Daddy's school musical this year was Seussical the Musical! It was one fun show! Daddy even had a few starring moments. At one point The Cat in the Hat told Daddy that his car was running so he better go catch it, so he hopped out of the "pit" where he was conducting. Another scene had him being handed music to play and throwing it up in the air. Cara thought it was pretty neat that her Daddy had a small role in the show!
At the end of the performance the students gave each director a bowl of M & M's decorated with a different Seuss character.
I didn't take any pictures during the performance but this little bit of scenery shows what great artists the school has!
Congratulations to the entire Fine Art Department for putting on another terrific show!!

But... we are excited to have Daddy back home more often. 18-19 hour days 5 days a week for almost a month was a bit much on us!

Pre K Graduation

Thursday May 12th was Cara's PreK graduation program! Grandma and Grandpa Fox, Grandma and Grandpa Abbott, and Mommy and Daddy all went to watch graduation and then we had a little graduation party at home!

We were entertained by several musical numbers!
At the end of the program each kid went to the microphone and introduced themselves and said what they wanted to be when they grow up. I was too busy watching and forgot to take a picture!

Then the teachers presented each kid with a book of their year in Pre k with pictures from their field trips, class parties, and projects they had worked on this year. It is a wonderful keepsake!
Grandma Abbott bought Cara this cute "grad" necklace to wear for the party
Cara and her teacher Mrs Wantz
One of the last times she will be in this hallway with her backpack heading home from school
Now time for the party at home! Can you tell someone is excited to get a DS!
And some princess puzzles
And Minnie Mouse dishes
And a Rapunzel set!

Happy PreK Graduation day! Not sure how it is possible that my baby is getting ready for kindergarten already!

Mother Daughter Dinner

Grandma Abbott invited Cara and I to the Mother Daughter dinner that her sorority hosts. It was at a hotel restaurant in Ft Wayne!

Cara "won" one of the door prizes, a centerpiece off the table. The real winner thought Cara was so cute she wanted her to have it so she said Cara won!
Thanks Grandma A for including us in your special dinner!

Dance Recital Spring 2011

Walking into the school to prepare for her big dance recital
The back of her little tutu behind was too too cute
On stage, taking a quick bow when her name ws announced
Their song was "Personality"...she knew every word and every dance move!

With some of her friends after the show
With her bestie Grace! They thoroughly enjoyed taking dance classes together this past year
With Mommy and Daddy after the show

With Grandma and Grandpa Fox
With Grandma and Grandpa Abbott
The talented dancer received some flowers for her great performance
A tradition that Aunt Cyndi started last year was to come home from her performance to a "dance recital day" party...complete with flowers, balloons, princess plates, and her favorite desserts

Her choice was a carrot cake complete with princess decorations

Happy Dance recital day
Mommy and daddy got her a present, a Rapunzel tower toy and all the boys helped her put it together!
