Christmas Day

Santa was here, presents are ready to go, stockings are filled! Grandma and Grandpa Abbott came to stay with us for the festivities!
So excited...Santa came
Santa brought her a washer and dryer combo for her dollhouse
Santa brought her the leapster explorer and two new games
checking out her loot from Santa
Cara got Grandma and Grandma (each set) books from hallmark that she recorded, they both really liked them

We got Cara the Tag reading system, here is one of the books she got
Cara holding up her stocking before dumping it out
Our Feast: turkey and all the normal sides with gravy made especially by Great Grandma = yumminess! We are so glad to spend the holiday meal with family!

Christmas Eve at home

We left Grandma and Grandpa Fox's in time to head to church for Christmas eve mass. After mass we got home to find Grandma and Grandpa Abbott had arrived.

They were saving our presents for when we go to their house the next week but they brought down 2 presents as a preview.
In October they were at the movie theater in Ft Wayne and were waiting for us to leave our movie and the manager was talking to Cara and Cara told her that her favorite movie was Princess and the Frog. So the manager got a poster out of her office and gave it to Grandpa to surprise her with. Grandma and Grandpa got it framed for her. She treasures this so much.
Then Mommy and Daddy gave her an early present, new Christmas nightgowns for her and her 3 American girl dolls!
Our Christmas beauties are ready for bed. After a bedtime reading of "The Night before Christmas" while snuggling with Mommy and Daddy Cara was tucked into her bed and kissed goodnight. She was quickly asleep and Santa went to work!

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Fox's

We spent Christmas eve at Grandpa and Grandma Fox's house with my brothers and their families, although poor Charlotte was up sick all night so she and Amy stayed home this year.

Oscar and Cara could not wait until present time
Oscar ripping into one of his big presents
I got new fireplace tools to match our new fireplace screen (the kittens loved to play in the fireplace, hence the need for a new big screen to prevent them from getting in)
Vince opening a new xbox game
Oscar opening a present
Cara loved present time
Especially when the box was from American girl

Daddy, Oscar and Cara playing a game of candy land

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all your generous gifts and for hosting another fabulous meal.

My little helper!

So the other day I started doing some dishes that wouldn't fit in the dishwasher and Cara asked if she could help. I gladly obliged, I figured there are not that many years in which she will want to be my helper so I better take advantage while I can. Thanks Cara!

Edwards Family Christmas

The weekend before Christmas was the Edwards family Christmas party (Grandma Fox's side of the family in which she has 7 siblings and all of their families). Great Grandma Edwards now has 40 great grandkids so we use a church hall for family get togethers!

Cute cousins in their super cute outifts for the Christmas party

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!

We hope you are able to celebrate the holiday with someone you love today! We thank God for sending us his Son and giving us a reason to celebrate December 25th, for He is the reason for the season. The hustle and bustle of the holidays often overshadow the true meaning of Christmas and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the simple joys of Christ's birthday and I hope when reading this you do the same!

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends! Hope you have a blessed and happy holiday!

Christmas Ballet Recital

Cara is taking ballet/tap at a new dance studio this year. We really like the new studio and her new teacher.

Posing in her outfit before leaving for the recital. Her class wore their pink ballet outfits, ballet shoes and a Christmas hair tie with an ornament in their hair
Practicing her twirl
Dancing onstage with her classmates

The grand finale, she is up there somewhere singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
Grandma Fox and Mommy got her flowers for her performance

Grandma and Grandpa Abbott came down for the weekend to watch her perform
Grandma and Grandpa Fox came too!

Afterwards we celebrated our little ballerina with dinner at Applebee's! Thanks to both grandparents for being so supportive of our little ballerina!
