Rest In Peace

Since this blog is my photo journal I must include this post although it is hard to write.  Last week we said goodbye to my Grandma for the last time!  Her funeral was so lovely.  Her Great Granddaughter Maddie sand "How Great thou Art" and our good friend Joel sang "Ave Maria" which is one of Grandma's favorite songs.

She battled a pesky knee infection and was in the hospital the last two months of her life.  She put up a good fight but her 87 year old body was tired and ready to rest. It was hard to see her in the hospital so confused and helpless.  The pain medication she got to help the knee pain made her so confused and out of sorts.  Being the healthcare professional that I am I wanted her "fixed".  I was annoyed when the doctors didn't listen to me and when the nurses weren't on their A game!  I wish I could have been her personal nurse for 2 months but with Cara and Will it was not possible.

She hated having her picture taken but I treasure these pictures, some of the last memories we have together.  This is on our birthday February 8th!
At Will's baptism

and meeting William for the first time

My grandma was such an amazing woman!  In about 10 years she birthed 8 babies!  Those 8 children went on to give her 26 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 19 step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild.  She was so loved by so many.  She was very active in her church, St Joseph's Catholic Church.  Along with a group of ladies she started the volunteer program at Witham Hospital and volunteered in their gift shop for over 50 years.  She was active in her sorority, BSP, and the Boone County Cancer Society.  She was a great example of what it means to be a pillar in the community and a pillar of the family.  She buried her husband, my grandfather 10 years ago and she was ready to be with him again.  The last days of her life she was talking about Heaven and being ready to be with her parents, husband, and those other family members who have gone before her.  She lived a fulfilled and loved life and although no one was ready to say goodbye we all knew it was her time.  May you rest in peace Grandma until we are together again!

Afternoon outside fun

This spring has been unseasonably cool and rainy so any day we can enjoy outside time is quiet a treat!

Impossible to get them both looking at the camera at the same time

Family dinner on a blanket.  Our screened in patio is getting all new screen and trim when Daddy has spare time so all of our patio furniture is in the backyard  or garage so we opted for blanket picnic instead.

11 months and counting...

Getting so big and working on this walking thing!  He will walk pushing his toys, a chair across the kitchen floor or if he is holding hands but he hasn't yet taken steps on his own.

Mother's Day 2013

Having two beautiful children to hug was more than enough for me this Mother's day!  They also blessed me with beautiful red roses.  Scott had his last performance of the musical so after a Mother's day brunch he was gone for the rest of the day. So the kids and I had a long nap, went out for dinner and went to visit my Grandma in the hospital.

Taylor Swift Concert

Thanks to Scott (who should win Most Devoted Dad of the Year by not only opening an American Express Credit card but also joined the Taylor Swift Fan Club) we were able to get tickets to the Taylor Swift concert.  We decided to surprise Cara and not tell her about them.   So Friday evening we headed downtown for dinner and told her we were going to see Aladdin Jr at Scott's school that evening.  After dinner we walked over to Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Cara was talking about how crowded it was and asked if there was a Pacers game that night.  We walked over to the doors and got in line and she was like "what are we doing we don't have tickets"  so Scott got the tickets out of his pocket and gave one to her.  She said "oh okay we are going to the Pacer game" and we said to actually read the ticket.  She was shocked!  We even brought our video camera to record the moment, it was priceless!
Cara with her ticket ready to go in!
A view of our seats, amazing!
Taylor performing!  What an awesome show, she is such a talented performer and puts on quite a concert!

Thank you to my parents for watching Will so we could have a special night with Cara!

10 Month Photo Shoot

We took Will to the local park for a 10 month photo session!

Love them and have a couple hundred more I could post but had to narrow it down!  Will is so adventurous, loves the outdoors, loves to people watch, loves to eat, still breastfeeds 4 times a day and is sleeping great at night in his crib (finally!)!  We love watching him change and grow!  He pulls up to everything so it seems like he will be walking soon!

Play Ball!

Baseball pj's in honor of opening day!  Not that we are even big baseball fans but I heard it on tv so thought it was appropriate!  Not that I ever need a reason to take pictures of my kids!!

Easter Sunday!

The Easter bunny came to our house and enjoyed the carrots we left out for him!

The kids had strict orders to wait until I was home from work to get their Easter baskets!

Cara was pretty excited by her basket of goodies
Will was pretty excited with the eggs

Nosy kitty needed to see what the bunny was bringing too!

Once we looked through our Easter baskets I made a big breakfast that included bunny pancakes!
After I slept a few hours we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Fox's for Easter!  Mike, Lisa, Oscar and Dillon were enjoying a Disney Cruise but the kids got to spend time with their other cousins Vince and Charlotte!

Love little booties decorated for the season!

Easter Bunny

On Saturday we went to the mall so we could get a picture of the kids with the Easter bunny in their Easter attire, who knew that must be the most popular day to see the Easter Bunny!  I had to work that evening so we didn't have time to wait and eat dinner so we left and all went to dinner and then Scott brought the kids back to the mall.  What an awesome daddy!  I can't believe how big William looks here, our baby boy is growing so fast!

Back Home and getting ready for Easter

2 Days Before Easter and we must get ready!  There are eggs to be dyed, baskets to be placed for the Easter bunny and lets not forget the unpacking and laundry that comes with coming home from vacation!

Eggs and dyed and ready!  So fun!
