Picking Out Pumpkins

There is a new little pumpkin farm near our house so we went and picked out some good pumpkins for carving!

Leaves, leaves, leaves

Just one tree in our backyard has shed its leaves for the fall so far...so we had to rake them and clean them up this week!

Cara loved jumping in the leaves

She thought it was a good idea to knock the few remaining leaves off the tree so we didn't have to rake again in a few days

She was really glad that Daddy got home from work and wanted to play in the leaves with her!!

New Haircut

Took Cara to get her haircut last week and wanted to get some pictures of it looking super cute!

Every time I get it cut I am afraid that I am cutting off the curl and she will have straight hair, but she continues to have beautiful natural curls :)

Yummy Apple Pie!

The best part about going to the orchard for Apple Fest is bringing home apples to make a DELICIOUS apple pie!!

Laundry Helpers

The cats are VERY intrigued with laundry.  They will jump in the piles of clothes that I am trying to fold and try to grab the items away from me.   Thank you laundry helpers for making a boring chore fun!

New Doll!

 Recently Cara was able to pool all of her money together to get one special gift! She still had some birthday money, tooth fairy money, lemonade stand money (thanks Grandma F for buying a $20 cup of hot chocolate), and money from selling favorite baby items and her old bike!
So she decided she wanted a new American Girl just like me doll because now they had one with curly blond hair and freckles!

Pretty Pretty Princess

Nothing warms my heart more than hearing Daddy and Cara playing Pretty Pretty Princess while I am making dinner!  Love!!

Another Fish Update!

So after now having 3 fish and having to change their water in their small aquarium we decided we needed a bigger aquarium with a filter! So our weekend project became "if you give a mouse a cookie"...

Step 1 we bought a 10 gallon aquarium kit at Walmart for $30 (note the 5 gallon was $28 so we thought for only 2 more dollars get the bigger aquarium) Then we decided this table was NOT going to work as a stand for the aquarium although I think our cats disagreed!  They were quite happy having a birds (cats) eye view!

Then after a stop at PetSmart we ended up with new gravel, plants and of course a princess castle for the fish to enjoy! (another $20ish bucks for all this)

Step #2 We ended up back at Walmart to buy an aquarium stand, another almost $40, and of course an abandoned pirate ship for the aquarium came home as well ($12)

but the end result is 3 happy little fish, one happy little girl, and a happy husband who has wanted a fish tank, well for about all of the 14 years we have been married!

So Miss Indiana, Miss American and Princess are happily living in their new home and have also been given new names!
