Day 4 on St Pete Beach

Our last full day to spend lounging and relaxing at the pool and the beach!

We started our morning by going to the souvenir shop across the street! We found a couple new adorable swim suits for Cara! Aunt Cyndi found a new one too!
Then we stopped to play some miniature golf at our resort before getting into swim gear

Cara wanted to know why this shark didn't have any teeth? hmm...
A little paddle boat fun!
This resort had everything! What an amazing place to stay!!

Finally time for the beach! Cara modeling one of her new swimsuits

Cara accidentally dropped a goldfish snack and then seagulls went crazy! They were very happy to have a little snack!
All of us on the balcony of our room
And now our last evening on the beach. The clouds were darkening and we were sure we were in for a big storm but it never even rained
Cara thoroughly enjoyed her Abbott vacation as she called it

One last glorious sunset...

St Pete Beach Day 3

This day was to be about relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We didn't have anywhere to go but to alternate between the pools and the beach!

Cara loved playing in the sand
Aaaawww.....nice view!
After spending the day in the sun we took a late afternoon nap and then got ready for dinner just in time for another beautiful sunset.

Dinner at Beef O Brady's at the resort. Nice sun kissed family!
After dinner nothing better than ice cream overlooking the water

Trying to get some cute family pictures but Cara was not being very cooperative
Scott and I took a walk down at the water
A view of the resort from the shoreline.

Perfect day of relaxation!

St Pete Beach Day 2 and a Final Goodbye

After a calling at the funeral home in the town where Irene lived for almost 20 years we all headed north to Bushnell to the Florida National Cemetery for our last goodbye! After a very nice service at the graveside we did a butterfly release in honor of her love of butterflies. Cara was there to help Aunt Christine!

This butterfly landed on her shirt!

We headed back to the resort to enjoy each other's company and to celebrate the her 87 years of living. We know she was happy looking down at all of us!
Enjoying the Gulf, the water was sooo warm
We had these nice cabanas on the beach to get out of the sun at times
Cyndi and I enjoyed a bottle of margaritas!!
Then everyone went out for a nice dinner that evening!
Cara giving Daddy some cuddles, she was so tired by the time we went out to eat
Cheers!
Cara got her very own "cheers" non alcoholic of course
The whole gang
I thought the sign to our resort looked very pretty in lights at night

Day 1 cont....dolphins

In my haste to post my other blog pictures from our first day I almost forgot to post about the dolphins!

We were busy watching the sunset when we realized there were dolphins coming up close! A security guard on the beach told us they come in at sunset to feed! How cool!

St Pete Beach Day 1

Last week we ended up at St Pete Beach, Florida! Great Grandma Abbott wanted to be buried in Florida National Cemetery In Bushnell Florida with Great Grandpa Abbott. So Grandma and Grandpa Abbott went to work to make reservations and plans for the family to be there for the final goodbye. It is through the generosity that we were able to go on the trip, thank you so much for everything!

We arrived at the Trade Winds Resort at St Pete Beach, got checked into our rooms, connected with other family members and went out for lunch. next on the agenda was swimming! Mother Nature had other plans, as soon as we were walking down to the pool it started pouring rain! Lucky for us they had a covered pool right next to the big pool.

Finally later in the day we were able to go in the bigger pool
How many Abbott/Tait's can fit in the hot tub at one time. We were the only ones down in the pool area on this evening.
Mommy and Cara stopped to lounge in the hammock for a few

Cara loved looking for shells on the beach
Sunset on the beach

Aunt Cyndi with a beautiful sky
Gorgeous beautiful skies over the water
On our way to dinner, Cara wanted to be prepared and brought her umbrella
Dinner at Crabby Bill's: Grandpa Abbott's brother Duane, and cousins Gloria and Dave are sitting on my side

Yummy dessert :) A good way to finish the day!!
