Day 8: Last Day of Vacation

We had one final day at Disney because we had a late evening flight! So magic Kingdom was again the destination of choice because Cara wanted to ride more rides! First on her list was the Magic Carpet Ride.....she never got tired of this one!

Enjoying the ride with Grandpa
After the carpet ride she wanted to ride Dumbo but on the way over to Dumbo she fell asleep. So we decided to have an early lunch to beat the lunch crowd and she slept through the meal until the very end. we tried to get her to eat but she wasn't interested and said she thought we were going to ride Dumbo. So...back to the Dumbo line we went. She asked me to hold her and within seconds was asleep on my shoulder. So Scott came to the rescue and took her from me and she slept on his shoulder for the 20 minute wait.

Still sleeping and almost time to get on the ride. So we wake her up and ask her if she wants to ride or if she wants to leave and she says she wants to ride.
But can barely keep her eyes open.....

Hi Grandma and Grandpa from the highest point on the Dumbo ride!
Love the view from up top
Daddy is back on the green Dumbo, we couldn't sit by each other this time

As we picked up Cara from the ride I noticed she was burning up..even hotter than the 84 degree sunny day was making us feel. So we headed over to first aid and they took her temp and it was 103.6 so they gave us ibuprofen and power aid for her. No wonder she couldn't stay awake. Since we had a flight later that day anyway we decided it was time to head back to the hotel and get her out of the heat. So after a LONG evening and a delayed flight we finally arrived back home at 0130 Saturday morning. Cara slept the whole time in the airport and most of the plane ride so she asked if we could watch a movie when we got home. She recovered from her illness quickly and was finally fever free after 24 hours of fevers.

What a wonderful Disney vacation once again. It was fun watching her remember rides, shows, and places. She is already asking when we can go back again. Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Fox for going with us and helping with Cara. More beautiful wonderful memories are etched into my brain that I will never forget!

Chef Mickey's

Our day started with a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort. Cara had been so excited for this all week. Everyday when we woke up she asked if that was the day we got to go to Chef Mickey's.

They always stop and pose you to bring a $30 picture to your table while you are eating to see if you will buy it, so we also handed them our camera
Cara's first course was cereal that day! They had SOOO many choices and she wanted cereal with milk :) I love the chairs in this restaurant and if you know my kitchen you know they would look fabulous in it!
This painting was hanging in the restaurant so we wanted a picture of it
While we were eating Pluto stopped by
And Goofy
And Donald
And Minnie who was excited to see that Cara and Baby Cara matched her
And finally Mickey stopped by and I don't think Cara stopped smiling

Day 7: Hollywood Studios

We went back to Hollywood Studios for more fun after we went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast that day. We allowed her to bring Baby Cara with us for the day since they were wearing their matching Minnie mouse dresses.

Posing with Baby Cara for the photopass photographer
We went to visit Mickey in his sorcerer outfit. While we were there one of the character helpers told us that at later in the day there was one hour when a TON of character friends would make an appearance and since it wasn't announced to anyone there would be no crowds! Wow, we really appreciated that tip!
So Mary Poppins and her penguins made an appearance
and Snow White
and Chip and Dale
and Genie
and Jafar
And the characters from Up were there that day
and Belle

Cara and Pocahontas

Minnie mouse was so excited to see Cara dressed like her! She twirled together while Pluto played with Baby Cara

Then posing for a picture together
Grandma and Grandpa headed back to the hotel with Cara while we went ride Rock and roller coaster! A terrific roller caoster! It takes off at 60mph and captures your picture while doing so so Scott took a picture of us! We were in the very front row, I love my face! Too funny! But a terrific ride!

The Magic Kingdom Day 6

Some days Cara would ask to take her stroller and sometimes she decided she would walk for the day. On this day she decided to push it herself as we left the hotel.

First on the agenda was to meet Princess Tiana because we kept missing her the previous day we were at the Magic Kingdom. Prince Naveen was with her but Cara was scared of Prince Naveen and so he politely stepped aside so Cara could talk to Tiana.
Cara asked Tiana if she preferred being a princess or a frog: the answer was a Princess because she did not like eating bugs
She had a great view on top of Daddy's shoulders for the Castle show starring Mickey, Minnie, the princesses and a few other characters too
The end of the show and Mickey and Minnie are raised high above the crowd
Now time to ride the Magic Carpets (again!), this and Dumbo were easily her favorites!!
When we went to meet Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie, Cara ran up to hug Jasmine so hard that Jasmine fell over! Aladdin came to the rescue and picked them both up :)
So then Aladdin got a hug while Jasmine recovered
And a posed shot from all 3 of them
Waiting for the parade to start, we were right up front
Sharing a yummy Mickey ice cream sandwich with Mommy during the parade
Time to enter the Hall of Presidents! Cara really needed to "rest/nap" and so far this had worked like a charm every trip, our trusted nap place
And it worked again like a charm! Daddy carried her out and sat on the porch and held her for about on hour while she napped
So Mommy, Grandma and Grandpa went on the steamboat ride
On Dumbo again :)
Waiting in line to race cars
Cara got her official Disney drivers license and drove Mommy around the track (Mommy had to control the gas pedal though, not quite tall enough for that yet)
On Goofy's roller coaster again,, we were having a great evening going from ride to ride

Then we went back to the Magic carpet ride! For EVERY ride she only wanted to sit with Mommy but this time Daddy went to lift her in the front seat and I just hopped into the back so she was tricked to sit with Daddy and she did just fine :)
The evening firework show is always amazing! Scott captured a couple of really neat shots of it!
