Cara's Birthday Fun Day!

What a fun birthday we had planned for Cara! Our day started off with huge birthday wishes from Mommy and Daddy and then getting ready to head to the spa for pedicures! Mommy and Cara went to Villaggio Day Spa to get our piggies pretty for some partying!

Cara thoroughly enjoyed all the attention she got from Miss Linda and everyone that walked by! They made sure to tell everyone to stop by and wish her Happy Birthday!

After a nice afternoon nap and some party preparations we were ready to host the big birthday party!
When Oscar got there he ran to Cara to said "Happy Birthday" It was so cute and I am glad my camera was ready

The princess castle cake! Several hours of my life went into making this cake and Cara was thrilled with the outcome. She was outside playing on Thursday during most of its creation and was so excited when she came in. She said "oh thank you Mommy I love it" It was heartwarming!

Posing with presents and holding up 3 fingers to show her new age

Time for some outside fun with our guests before dinner. Here she is playing with her good friend Zaina

And when Charlotte came in her Little Mermaid costume all ready for the Princess party, Cara had to rush and change into one of her Princess dresses, she chose Snow White!

Cara and her red rosey cheeks (from playing hard outside) was anxious to start with the present opening

A few candid pictures of some of the guests at the party

Present fun! Cara was so blessed to have such generous friends and family!

Great Grandma Edwards enjoying some conversation with Dendra and Zaina

Our little neighbor friend Grace was helping Grandma A with trash from the presents, it was so cute!

Time for cake! Cara was enjoying everyone singing Happy Birthday to her, notice the cute little pink tiara candles!

The candles were a bit tricky to blow out so Mommy helped a little!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday princess! We love you so much and are so lucky to have you in our lives!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Cara

I have no idea how it could possibly be three years since this precious little person entered our world! I don't remember life without her! Here are the recent pictures done at the Picture People to celebrate her 3rd birthday!

Happy Birthday Princess! Thank you for all that you are in my life! You turn my frowns upside down, you make rainy days bright, your laughter lifts my spirits, your hugs and kisses touch my soul in a way I never even dreamed possible! Hope you have a magical 3rd birthday!!

Another Fun Swim Party

We always love to go to Joe and Amy's house for swimming, especially when it was a beautiful sunny afternoon!

Look at big girl Cara swimming by herself with just her arm floaties on! Every time we swim this summer she gets more brave and was to do it "by myself Mom!"

We also broke in our new cornhole set! Most everyone got into the action!

Thanks to Joe and Amy for hosting a fun Sunday afternoon party!

A Beautiful Friday night at Symphony on the Prairie

On Friday one of our good friends from college, Sally, came to visit us! We all headed to Conner Prairie to enjoy the symphony performing the music of Billy Joel. It was performed by Michael Cavanaugh who had the lead in his musical on Broadway! It was a great show!

What a fun Friday night!

To Grandma and Grandpa's Again

Last weekend we went back to Fort Wayne for some family time. Aunt Chris is visiting from California to help get GreatGrandma A settled into her new place. Uncle Duane and Aunt Linda also came to help.

Cara manhandling Bubbles again! Thank goodness she is so patient with Cara!

More cornhole! Uncle Duane brought his cornhole set and we brought our new ones too. Ours were not stained or varnished yet, but we were still able to use them.

Scott and his new cornhole board

Cara and Aunt Linda sitting in the driveway making up a story with paper! Cara was trying to stall Aunt Linda from leaving, it was so cute!

That Sunday night was the end of the Three Rivers Festival! So we headed downtown for the big firework show! It started pouring rain during our drive so we parked in a nearby parking garage so we were sheltered from the weather.

Daddy, Cara, and Grandma watching the fireworks

What a great firework show! The rain stopped shortly before it began which helped with visibility!

More of our weekend

Bubbles the cat was still hanging around Grandma and Grandpa's house! She was enjoying the attention she was getting from Cara! She was so good and let Cara manhandle her all over the place.

Cara liked to play with Bubbles in her playhouse on the deck

And we got in a couple sessions of pool time too

Alumni Band Fun

This past Saturday was Scott's Alumni band reunion and concert back at his old high school.

Here are Scott and Chris remembering the times at their old band lockers. Cara and Owen are quite intrigued by the lockers too!

After literally running the halls in the school we sat down for a few while waiting for the concert to start

Great Grandma A and Grandpa A came to watch the concert too, here she is getting a big hug from Cara

Under the direction of Mr Kevin Klee (he was Scott's director in high school) the band (most of which had not picked up an instrument in many many years) actually made good music

Cara and Owen being silly in the parking lot after the concert. I tried to get a cute picture and here is Owen yelling something.

Then apparently it was Cara's turn :)

I just love her little ladybug dress (with matching hair ties of course)

After the concert we headed to Headwaters Park to enjoy some treats at the Three Rivers Festival.

A quick Mommy, Daddy, Cara shirt. And yes we thought it was hilarious that the boys were still wearing their alumni band shirts.

Cara's request, this super yummy sno cone!

They both enjoyed their sweet treat to end the day
