What a busy fun weekend. On Saturday we attended our friends Gigi and Matt's wedding. It was a beautiful day and a fun reception. We enjoyed spending the evening with friends. Grandma and Grandpa A were in town to spend time with Cara.
Sunday we headed out to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Colt's game. We must have been the good luck charm (hehe)because they won their first game in the stadium. Cara also had a fun afternoon because she went to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa A, Grandma and Grandpa F, Dillon and Oscar.
And as I type this an apple pie is in the oven baking and the ice cream maker is churning away! Yummy! I love fall!!

Tuesday- A day of Oops

So... when the directions say to place the caramel apples in the refirigerator for an hour after making, I guess it is to make the caramel and nuts stick to the apples instead of slide down on the waxed paper as shown above. Don't worry they still tasted yummy even if they looked awful!
Cara lost her footing on the stairs and fell and twisted to bump her forehead right into the wooden post at the base of the stairs. She got a nice goose egg on her forehead. We tried to ice it and she kept saying "all done ice".

But despite the bruise she was still able to cheese for the camera when asked :)

First Concert of the School Year

Cara and Mommy talking to Daddy before the concert begins

Posing with Daddy before the concert

Daddy conducting the jazz band

Cara was fascinated with the stair case and wanted to sit there to wait for Daddy after the show

Then she wanted Baby Cara (her doll) to sit next to her

Then she started "reading" the program to baby Cara

Then when Daddy came out she wanted to read the program to him

Showing the paintings to Baby Cara

Then she had a ball running down the halls
On Sunday afternoon was Daddy's first concert of the school year, which featured the jazz choir and jazz band. I dressed Cara in her dress that matches Baby Cara (her doll) so she insisted Baby Cara go with us. Cara even wanted to wear her red shoes just like baby Cara's red shoes. Everyone thought she was just adorable!!

Annual Trip to Apple Fest

Posing in front of the pumpkin pile
Oscar climbing the mound of pumpkins

Cara playing in the bin of gourds since the pumpkins were too heavy for her to pick up

Dillon sitting in the big pile of pumpkins posing for a picture

Cara playing in the bouncer, which she absolutely LOVED! Oscar was going to go too but decided he was too tired!

Cara and Mommy waiting for our turn on the hayride to the pumpkin patch

Out in the pumpkin patch on the search for a great pumpkin

yeah, She found a perfect Cara sized pumpkin

On the hayride back after picking our pumpkins

Now this is fall!!!
We spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Apple Fest at a local orchard. Grandma and Grandpa F, Michael, Lisa, Dillon, and Oscar shared in the fun. Michael and Dillon braved the corn maze, they said there were clues to help which way to turn, and the clues were sports trivia, which just happens to be Mike's specialty. We enjoyed a tasty lunch, a trip through the barn to buy apples to take home, and time in the bounce castle, all before hopping on the hayride to pick out our pumpkin. Oscar was pretty tired and didn't feel well so he decided not to go on the hayride with us. Don't worry, he didn't miss out on a pumpkin, Grandpa picked one for him.
Our afternoon concluded with a tasty warm apple dumpling with ice cream! We wore Cara out and she fell asleep on the way home and then slept 2 more hours once we were home!
Now we wait for Daddy to make us an apple pie!!

The Park with Friends

Here are Cara and Abby on the alligator with Kitty pushing them, and Ali is on the right
We managed to get all 4 sitting down for a picture, Cara couldn't stop hugging Ali

Here the gang is with the Mommies, notice Cara's hug looks like it turned into a choke hold

yeah for fall, we get to wear new fall clothes finally
On Monday we met up with Kitty and her daughter Ali, Sandy and her daughters Abby and Izzy at a park for a playdate. I had to work Monday night so we didn't stay real long so we didn't mess up our normal routine of lunch followed by a nap. The girls seemed to have fun playing together, and I am sure when they are older they will have more fun. It was beautiful weather on Monday, we got in our playdate before the cold fall air hit!

Camping at Brown County

Cara helped by packing her suitcase for an overnight stay with Grandma and Grandpa F
We stopped at the Lookout spot for pictures while we were waiting to "check-in" at our camp site

So we thought we should turn to LOOK at the beautiful scenery

We found a big field to play some Bocce Ball, Scott and I must have had some beginners luck because we won the game!!

Our new tent, easy to assemble (everything was color coded) and nice and roomy compared to our old dome tent

Our two camp sites were on a nice slope, if you can tell in the picture, so we had to set up our tents on the gravel parts that were flat
On Saturday we headed down to Brown County with Gigi, Matt, Lacey and Derek for an overnight camping trip. My work friends have been going on an annual camping trip for a few years, but this year we had a few conflicts so the three of us had to go separately, while the rest of the bunch is going next weekend.
We got down to Brown County park a bit early and our campsites were still occupied so we enjoyed the scenery, played some bocce ball, and ate lunch before setting up camp. We got a new tent this year that we were eager to try and we love it. Now we just desperately need a new air mattress since we woke up in the middle of the night without air in ours! We played games, enjoyed a yummy campfire dinner, late night smores and shared lots of stories! We had great weather as well!
Cara totally enjoyed her sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house! Oscar was spending the night also, so they had a ball. They "helped" Grandma make brownies! They played LOTS!! We can't wait to take Cara on a camping trip, we think it will be fun to teach her more about the great outdoors!!

Cara had to pose with her two best friends for me for our annual picture! Do you think she will still do this when she is in high school?

More pigtails and fun

Cara liked her pigtails so much that other day she brought me her hair bands and asked for piggies, and since it is normally a fight over keeping something in her hair, I was happy to oblige
I can close my eyes and hear her giggling when I look at these pictures

And of course, every child wants to wear Mommy's shoes! I was in the shower getting ready and came out to find her in these nice high heels, which she proceeded to wear for the next hour

Life is so fun right now!!! We are enjoying every moment!! When I get home from work I just want to grab and cuddle her because it makes me realize how lucky I am!!!

New Pigtails

The other day I was playing with Cara's hair and decided to try to get it into pigtails. She held still and the result is adorable in my opinion.
