Day 3 of vacation...how much fun can you pack in one day??

We had a day of fun planned for day 3 of vacation!  Our first stop was the go carts!  They were a huge favorite from our first trip here and they were on the must-do list this trip!

My crazy picture taking while driving skill!

Cara sitting in Aunt Cyndi's car!

I was trying to take a picture of Grandma A taking a picture of us in the carts but had a photo fail

Grandpa A zipping past me!

After the go-carts we headed to a game of miniature golf

And next stop was bumper boats

For some reason I kept getting everyone's backs when I snapped the picture

I believe that was my foot in this picture!

Pictures got out of order but we are back to miniature golf ( I am so behind at posting I don't feel like taking the time to rearrange the order)

This was one of the most beautiful miniature golf courses I have every played on

They had special kid go carts which Cara could drive

She loved it!

That afternoon during "rest time" we decorated Cyndi's hotel room to celebrate Grandma Abbott's birthday a couple days early since we were all together that day!

We ordered a cake from the local bakery

Balloons and streamers everywhere

Cara cuddling with Mommy

Surprise!  After surprising Grandma we went down to the dock to rent a pontoon for the afternoon

We went over the the beach on the other side of Silver Lake

Cara helped Grandpa drive the boat

Boating fun

Beautiful lake

After returning our boat we got a couple of pizzas and headed over to the Lake Michigan beach to enjoy the sunset

Picnic dinner on the beach

Family pic with the sun setting behind us

The light house with the sun setting down on the lake

And finally back to the hotel room for the official birthday celebration, thank goodness we did not set off the fire alarms/sprinkler system

Vacation: Beach Day 2 & Our Anniversary

Nothing like spending your 14th wedding anniversary without a care in the world on a nice relaxing beach day!

Cara and Scott were thoroughly enjoying building a sand palace!
My little blondie enjoying a day at the beach!
Family picture time!
The girls in our matching sun hats!
Cara never misses an opportunity to show us her model poses
After spending all day at the beach we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. I was very surprised to come in to find the most beautiful flowers that Scott had ordered from a local florist before we even got there! Then we all met in Cyndi's room before heading out to the "fancy restaurant" and they had a little anniversary surprise for us with a cake/cupcakes and cards. It was really sweet! Somehow I have no pictures of this....

So we went to the next town over to the "fancy" restaurant and enjoyed a nice dinner before heading back to the hotel to enjoy another sunset!
Cheers all around!
Family picture!
14 years together and still happily in love with each other!
What a way to end our anniversary!

Cyndi and cara were performing a show for us on the dock (us and a few other hotel guests as well)
A fantastic day to celebrate 14 years!

Silver Lake Michigan Vacation Day 1

After taking a Fox Family Vacation to Martha's Vineyard in June we took our second annual Abbott family vacation to Silver Lake Michigan

Our hotel room had a great whirlpool tub right in the room which was awesome!
Scott trying on my sun hat (actually he was trying to stretch it out for me so it fit better). Silly me forgot to pack our sun hats that we used for our last vacation so we had stopped at Walmart on the way for a few last minute things and they were well stocked in sun hats so all the girls picked up matching ones.
Everyone was crashing in Aunt Cyndi's room to decide what we were going to do that evening
This was our view from our room of the beach from our hotel and Silver Lake
The playset was once again a big hit for Cara
The sunsets on Silver Lake are simply amazing, with the sand dunes providing a perfect backdrop for the sun to hide behind!
A little playtime in the sand

Grandma and Grandpa A enjoying the sunset

The night would not be complete without a quick swim in the hotel pool before bedtime!
These pictures are a bit blurry, but you get the idea :)

4th of July

Grandma and Grandpa Abbott's pool is still a work in progress but it didn't stop us from enjoying it on the 4th of July weekend!

Later that evening the boys went to a movie and the girls headed to watch the fireworks!

Cara being silly
It only took us 3 takes to manage to get all 6 of us in the frame! Owen and his Mommy were with us for the fireworks show!
Blurry fireworks shot!

Owen fell asleep on Cyndi's lap, guess he was bored with the show

What a fun 4th of July! We are so happy Aunt Cyndi was home to spend the holiday with us this year!!

Day 7 Boston Duck Tour

Tuesday morning we packed up our hotel rooms because we would be heading to the airport that evening to come back home. But first we went on a Duck Tour around Boston!

This very expensive bridge had some very neat architecture!
The Garden..home of the Stanley cup champions as well as the Boston Celtics
Cheers....where everybody knows your name!

Our bus ride went into the St Charles River for another scenic view of the Boston skyline
Cara got a turn to drive the boat

We bought the family picture of all of us before we boarded the Duck Tour

A little bit of play time in the Science Museum before heading to the airport

After spending at least 7 hours in the Boston Airport due to weather related delays we finally arrived home at almost 2am! Long day but a fun trip!!
