The Great Zoo Halloween at the FW Children's Zoo

Last weekend we headed to Grandma and Grandpa A's house so we could all go to the Great Zoo Halloween at the Children's Zoo. Grandma has been dealing with a bad knee so she stayed home to rest up while the rest of us headed to the zoo. It was a pretty chilly evening, but nothing a nice warm coat didn't fix!

Cara chose her Minnie Mouse costume for the occasion, which worked out great since she could wear a black turtleneck and tights to stay warmer.
The paths of the zoo are lined with carved pumpkins, thousands of them!

I thought this pumpkin display was great! Someone was very clever and talented

Stopping for a drink break, Cara is showing off her pumpkin sippy cup

One of the treat stations, this one was a giant pixie stick

Stopping to pose one more time on the way out, what a fun evening!

Cara realized she was standing next to an Ariel pumpkin and wanted another picture up close

Our Annual Trip to the Apple Festival

Apples and pumpkins everywhere! That is what we found at the Orchard on Saturday for our annual trip to their fall festival. And the weather turned surprisingly chilly for the day! We met Grandma and Grandpa Fox, Oscar and Dillon just in time for a late lunch at the festival!

Our hayride back to the pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkin

Cara found hers, just her size!!

What a fun day, although a bit more chilly that usual. But thats what coats and hoods are for right? We had a great time!

Magic Kingdom Again

So we had a wonderful day planned at the Magic Kingdom and headed there with our little Princess after visiting the boutique. Our first stop at her request was to see Mickey and Minnie again because she wanted to show them how pretty she looked that day.

Then while we waited in line to see Mickey and Minnie, Daddy waited in the line to see the fairies so our wait wouldn't be as long.
Not sure of the name of this fairy, time to watch that movie :)

Cara posing with Tinkerbell

Not sure of this fairies name either :)
After meeting the fairies it was time to head to Cinderella's Castle for a very special lunch with the Princesses!

On the way we ran into the Fairy Godmother who obliged us with a picture

Off to Cinderella's Royal Table for a special lunch

We were greeted by Cinderella in the lobby, welcoming us to her Castle

We finally got a great table, a window view overlooking Fantasyland

Snow White was the first Princess to stop by to say hello

And we saw Princess Aurora

And Princess Jasmine

And Belle

Then a very happy Cara wanted to ride It's A Small World

Our sleeping beauty, back at the hotel for a late afternoon nap to rest and cool off. She managed to sleep without disturbing her hair

Back at the park for rides and fun on our last evening at Disney

Enjoying her perch on Daddy's shoulder for the evening SpectroMagic Parade

Both of them intently watching the parade
The park was open pretty late on Saturday evening so we were going to enjoy a couple hours of rides after the parade since Cara had a late nap. So immediately following the parade we headed into the Haunted Mansion and came out to find it POURING rain! Her stroller was soaked and soon were we! All week we had brought along a bag of ponchos and the rain cover for her stroller but we decided when heading back to the park that evening that it hadn't rained yet and it was not forecast so we would not bother. What a mistake, we got soaked but at least the park was clearing out and we hit several more rides (after buying new ponchos) and made the most out of the evening. The camera never captured the rest of the Magic because it was safely(dry) in a ziploc bag in the backpack.
Enjoyed another great magical Disney vacation! No matter how many times we have been there is always something new and exciting and a truly wonderful vacation!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Saturday morning started with a special trip to the Boutique for someone to be transformed into a princess for the day! So we headed to Downtown Disney bright and early!
Checking in at the desk. The Boutique is in the back of the World of Disney store, probably the largest Disney store in the country.

She was selected to sit in the display window, how neat. Everyone walking on the street could see her.

She is loving all the attention and pampering. She got her hair, nails, and makeup done too!

The transformation is being completed with a sprinkling of pixie dust

And a sash to to display her Princess status for the day

And her first glance at herself in the mirror

She is being escorted through the store and practicing her Princess wave

And a picture of the completed project (after she removed the glitter stickers from her cheeks and the sash)

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

On Friday night the Magic Kingdom was hosting Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Scott convinced me to buy tickets even though it was expensive because when are we going to be down there at Halloween time again?

Cara chose her Princess Aurora outfit for the special occasion

She DID NOT want to pose for a picture here and tried to hide in her stroller but I wanted a picture next to the sign

They had about 20 trick or treat stations around the park, here we are stopping at one. They gave out candy by the handful at each stop. We also got new cool spinning toothbrushes too.

And a bonus of the evening was that the rides were not busy at all, everyone was too busy getting candy and participating in the fun. We walked straight on several rides that night!

A magical moment was meeting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in one of their rare appearances

And a trip on the carousel, always a hit

The castle was all aglow in beautiful spooky colors. We also watched the Boo Parade but since it was so dark we didn't get great pictures of it

After the parade we headed over to the castle front for the Villians show

All the Villians performing
Cara was such a trooper since it was nearing midnight when we left that evening. We had a great time and I am so glad we decided to go!
